Victorian Fab

Victorian style is quintessentially British. We are a country built on the solid foundations of high ceilings, dark wood and geometric tiles. Yet for a time, from the ‘50s, we fell out of love with it. Our US and European brethren influenced everything from modernism to minimalism. Cue a combination of style in our bathrooms. So when it came to a period bathroom revamp in this house it was natural to look back. The customer was born in this room, then having views over open countryside – so it deserved special treatment. Highest on the list of priorities was a large open shower. A Harbour i10 screen with flipper is complemented by a period, shower. Both give that sense of luxury. A former fireplace was ideal for a new vanity unit. The wood was pushed towards walnut and l stained the doors to tie them all together with the windows.

The customers reaction to the result? “We love it. It is fabulous. The room is so much bigger than l expected. We have joked about having our friends around for a party. I have plans for blinds and a chair near the window. Thank you so much for your work.” #plumbproud
